The Peanut Butter Sucker
Custom product design, photography, and social content for my family’s custom-cake business.

The brief
Make the design part of the experience.
I began in my family’s custom-cake business, where artistry and structural design had to work together. The work grew into product design, photography, and marketing across the customer experience.
I created 500+ custom product designs and designed 30+ personalized websites a year for wedding couples, putting each couple’s design, order details, and logistics in one place.
Visual direction
A different design for each occasion.
The product designs were built around the occasion and the people ordering them. That range called for a flexible visual approach, from illustration and custom toppers to the finished confectionery work.
Process
Putting it all together.
I combined design with original food photography, graphics, and video for social content. The work helped people see the products and understand the custom experience.
I also launched a product line using 3D printing and laser cutting, connecting the illustration work to repeatable production.
Deliverables
See it in action.
The work spanned custom products, personalized wedding websites, and social content. Styled-shoot collaborations placed the confectionery designs alongside the work of other event creatives.
Results
Design, with a wider audience.
Original food photography, graphics, and video supported a 40% increase in social engagement. The custom designs and engagement result are separate accomplishments.
The brand earned features with iHeartRadio’s 107.5 The River Nashville, Kentucky Bride, and ChefWorks. I represented the business on Netflix’s Sugar Rush as its cake artist.
The product-design count, website volume, and social engagement lift describe separate parts of the work.
